Gone were the days where mixing and matching prints is defined as overwhelming or over the top. Mixing and matching prints is chic, stylish and versatile. I love this trend as it allows me to play around with different prints and patterns in my wardrobe. At the same time, this mixing the mismatch trend actually gives me endless option to pattern mixing and show a creative side of me.

Friday was my 开工(start work) day after the CNY break and I decided to pulled out my polkadots cheongsam top that I got it tailored in Ho Chi Minh years ago. After all it's still CNY and it's TGIF,therefore I tuned it down to a semi-causal mode by matching it with a denim skirt and one of my favorite prints - camouflage bag. Creating a fusion look this TGIF where oriental meets army, where East meets the West? Lol. :)

Tip: For a start,a great way of mixing prints instead of going all out with the entire outfit is to pair with printed accessories such as bags, belt, scarfs or necklaces.

When you are more comfortable and confident of your creativity in mixing prints, try going all way out like pairing a floral top with polkadots skirt and a stripes clutch for a day out or a polkadots top with stripes skirt, statement necklace and throw in a heels for a evening look.

Stripes can also go with floral, camouflage prints, animal prints and bright colors as its prints are like neutral toned print which makes it easy to mix and match with anything. Do go along with different textures as well giving a different dimension. Here's some of my experiments:

Tip: To achieve a well put ensemble, try mixing same or close color family together such as pairing a red pair of shoes with a floral top that has red element in it while pairing with a polkadots/stripes skirt.

Mixing the Mismatch can be fun, causal yet classy and elegant too. Here's some Clashed Prints that rocks and I want to experiment some day. Have you try any mixing the mismatch? Start rocking the look now!

Meanwhile, if you have any fashion tips to share, please do let me know! I would love to try them out too. Happy weekend folks!
